Samsung Galaxy Fit is an Affordable Phone with Great Features

The Galaxy S was a surprise hit for Samsung in the summer of 2010 and several months on remains one of the bestselling and most prominently displayed phones in high street phone stores. This was a high end phone though and there were many people who were eager to enjoy it but not so keen on the cost. Recognising this, Samsung has produced a new batch of four devices that will follow the same design ethos as the more high profile Galaxy S but at a much more affordable price.

Launched alongside the Galaxy Ace, Galaxy Mini and Galaxy Gio, the Galaxy Fit offers some excellent entertainment and messaging features and comes with quite an impressive camera for this section of the phone market. The phone operates on a simple physical design that is smooth and comfortable to hold thanks to its curvilinear body and its smaller 3.3" screen makes this one of the most pocketable Galaxy phones on offer.

The Fit runs on Android Froyo and also comes with Samsung's TouchWiz interface. TouchWiz comes with support for social networks like Facebook and Twitter making this an excellent phone for keeping in touch with your online chums. 3G and Wi-Fi are both available, and these are nice features to see as they previously were not often found in mid-range smartphones.

There are plenty of great online features to enjoy with the Fit including general web browsing support with a fantastic HTML browser. You can also stream online videos from websites like YouTube and also gain access to Android Market. Here you can get access to some fantastic apps and games to enjoy. The Galaxy Fit also comes with support for Adobe Flash so that you can enjoy the internet to its fullest.

Additionally you can also find entertainment through the phone's stereo FM radio, which is a great feature to have on long commutes. The Fit features an excellent 5 megapixel camera that includes great features like geo-tagging and smile detection. This comes with QVGA video recording support which is the main area where this phone feels a little behind the times, but for a mid-range handset this is not so out of place.

The Galaxy Fit operates on an excellent design that is both nice to look at and comfortable to hold. The smaller screen of the Fit compared to phones such as the high profile Galaxy S may make it less ideally suited to things like video content but it will also make this a more feasibly sized phone for most people. The screen still provides plenty of room to enjoy video options, online and offline, and there are plenty of these available on the Fit.

The Fit is not as spectacular in its hardware features as more high profile phones but this is not to be noticed when actually using the device as it covers all of the main areas of modern day smartphone usage. This includes great messaging with threaded SMS and social networks, as well as plenty of entertainment through music, video, games and apps. It is also a fantastic phone to go online with due to its 3G and Wi-Fi connections.
